We at SBH deeply mourn the loss of Dr. Eli “Eliko” Zomer, a true pioneer and cherished mentor.
Born in Tel-Aviv in 1946, Eli lived the early spirit of Israel. A natural leader, he was a boy scout guide and a paratrooper who helped liberate Jerusalem in 1967.
Eli came to the US, earning his PhD in Biochemistry. For over 40 years, he led biotech research, chemical engineering, and drug discovery. He spent 30 years in pharma and clinical diagnostics R&D, managing complex programs for industry and regulators. Eli mastered GMP/GLP manufacturing, diagnostic development, validation, and regulatory submissions across medical, veterinary, and agrochemical fields. His many patents and papers shaped biotech.
As a founder and mentor at SBH, Dr. Zomer shared his vast knowledge and passion.
We will always remember Eliko’s spirit and his lasting mark on science and on us.
